Kept getting same msg on Amazon that card info I submitted didn't match Amex account info and I needed to correct this before I could register for scheme. Have been advised by Amex that only certain cards are eligible and mine isn't one of them. Amazon are generating erroneous messages by default and should be clear about why applications are unsuccessful. Perhaps it would be helpful to print a list of the qualifying Amex cards prominently at the beginning of the T&C's to save other people the inconvenience I've just experienced.

I spent a good part of the day searching for the items I needed 'sold and dispatched by Amazon.co.uk' so I could use the offer, and during checkout, after choosing to pay for part of the order with points, as directed, it would say that the code was invalid. This is deceiving your customers to try to make them link their Amex cards to buy with points. Amazon should honour the promotions it offers or stop misleading customers.

I spent one and three quarter hours on Sunday and Monday trying to gat the link to accept my car for this offer and wouldn't apply it Then spent a whopping 2 hours in conversation with Amazon and they couldn't resolve it but wouldn't admit that there was any kind of glitch in the system. The equivalent of a full afternoon wasted. Not happy with this at all.

Payment was declined. Amex say payment (on the card) wasn't declined. Amazon says the points part of the payment (out of my control - the amount was the points I had left) was declined. So I have stopped using Amex on Amazon as there seems to be no way around this. I'll swap my points for vouchers / gift cards in future (as this method at least worked in the past). On Amazon I have started using a different payment method. The pay with points seems a good idea but a declined payment is no use to me as the goods then are delayed and won't be delivered when I expect (so I cancelled).

It's a really easy to use and convenient option, however the conversation rate is awful in comparison to what else you can use your points for.
If I was stuck for cash then I would use it again, probably not otherwise.

This had worked well in the past - came to use it in December 2017 and it failed to work. The configuration seemed to have been changed without our knowledge. Digging around it seems that the changes made by amazon meant that we had to enable/re-enable the feature. Unimpressed

Not easy ar all to set up. Have 2 Amex cards and kept going round in circle. Should have better explanation of how to do it. Once set up fairly easy, but there again, the first time I used it, did not register and customer service could not do anything to fix it. Mixed bag. Might improve in time

Got an Amex card recently, application for the card a little long winded but the app works OK. Problem is that not a lot of stores or petrol station take the card. I found that I was still having to use my normal credit for a lot of transactions including online purchases.
Pros- card and app OK
Cons- not many places take the card
